The VSKA rifle has a whole new bolt carrier, front trunnion, and feed ramp machined from S7 tool steel and heat-treated for optimal durability. S7, also known as “Shock-Resisting Tool Steel,” is often used for tools such as chisels and jackhammer tips due to its high compression strength and shock resistance while preserving toughness. The front trunnion and bolt are machined from billet and exceed the project’s durability goals. The VSKA also has a carburized 4140 steel bolt and a chrome-moly 4150 barrel, the RAK-1 Increased Trigger Group for a powerful trigger pull, and an enhanced safety sector with a bolt hold-open notch.
