The Henry® Mare’s Leg is a fast handling Lever-Action Pistol based on the cut-down, modified rifle used by Steve McQueen in late 1950s TV Westerns. The Henry Mare’s Leg in .22 LR is a modified variation of the Model H001 Henry lever-action rimfire rifle. The Mare’s Leg is an exceptionally good-looking firearm, featuring a deep blued receiver, buttplate, barrel band, barrel and lever. The hooded front sight is protected from getting knocked out of alignment, and the semi-buckhorn rear sight adjusts for windage and elevation. The receiver has a solid top with side ejection. There is no loading port on the side of the receiver as ammunition is loaded directly into the tubular magazine from the top. Henry utilizes an internal transfer bar safety that prevents hammer contact with the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled. The rifle cannot fire from being dropped onto the hammer, nor will it accidently fire if the shooter’s thumb slips from the hammer while cocking. There is no manual cross-bolt safety or traditional half-cock notch for a safety. The Henry Mare’s Leg Lever-Action Pistol is reminiscent of the late 1800s in the gun slinging west. Made in USA.
